JAZAN: Border guards in Jazan foiled an attempt to smuggle 300kg of qat into the Kingdom on Sunday.
The controlled substance comes in the form of leaves which are chewed by the user and is a mild stimulant.
Saudi Arabia’s government has urged anyone with information related to suspected smuggling operations or customs violations to call the confidential hotline 1910, the international number 00 966 114208417, or email 1910@zatca.gov.sa.
Those notifying the authorities of suspected cases of drug smuggling are treated with strict confidentiality. Financial rewards are offered for tips leading to arrests.
