Faisal Vawda meets MQM-P leadership to discuss political situation

enator Faisal Vawda has emphasised the need for major political parties and leaders to formulate a national agenda in the interest of the country, to steer Pakistan out of its current crises and move towards political and economic stability. He argued that ongoing protests, sit-ins, and political unrest have been damaging to the country, Express News reported.

Vawda made the statement during his visit to the headquarters of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) in Karachi on Sunday where he met with the party’s coordination committee, members of the provincial assembly, and other elected representatives. Prominent MQM leaders, including Mustafa Kamal and Anis Qaimkhani, warmly welcomed him.

Speaking to the media, the senator highlighted that the country is facing severe challenges due to political instability. He called for all political parties to put aside their differences and adopt a shared agenda for the national good. “Political parties must end their ego-driven politics and unite for the country’s benefit,” he said.

He praised MQM’s leadership, describing their role as a “bridge” and asserting that the party’s mandate should be recognised at both federal and provincial levels. He also acknowledged the MQM’s contributions to public welfare, stressing that their continued efforts in serving the people should be recognised.

In his remarks, Vawda emphasised the need for a unified approach to strengthen both Pakistan’s political and economic landscapes. He also underscored the importance of national consensus in fighting terrorism, stating that the 26th Constitutional Amendment is crucial in resolving the country’s crisis and should be respected by all institutions.

The senator urged major political parties to put aside their differences and adopt a common strategy to address the nation’s pressing challenges. He expressed his intention to hold talks with religious and nationalist parties, including Maulana Fazlur Rehman, to foster political harmony.

He added that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf needs to realign its direction. He praised Imran Khan’s sisters for their sincerity, stating that they have always been selfless and not driven by personal gain.

Meanwhile, MQM-P leader Mustafa Kamal described Vawda as a “one-man army” in his efforts to unite political forces on a single platform. “We fully support his efforts, as he is committed to bringing political stability to Pakistan,” he stated.
