In a recent Instagram Story, actor Sanam Jung exposed a user who direct-messaged her some offensive remarks that she chose to redact. Championing grace, Sanam also censored the offender’s photo and name on her Story. The only thing she shared was his username and her own words.
“Waited too long for you to apologise. Really wanted to show the world your face and the kind of cr*p you wrote. I have a full-size picture of yours, but I decided not to disclose [any of that] to give you another chance. I hope now that I have shared this screenshot of yours, you will not approach a woman like this ever again in your life!” the Alvida actor warned.
Sanam’s incident is an unfortunate reminder of how easily women fall prey to harassment, be it in person or online. While these distressing encounters force many women to stay silent, the 37-year-old actor chose to speak out in defence of herself and any other woman that this user targets next.
Over the years, Sanam has been outspoken about various issues concerning her life. Back in 2021, with the rumour mill abuzz, she stepped up to clarify that despite what people were saying, she was not splitting from her husband.
“This rumour started because of a fan’s comment on my Instagram post, and it’s completely ridiculous. I didn’t plan on posting any kind of clarification or explanation, but Qassam and my family have been getting concerned phone calls almost daily about this pressing issue,” she revealed.
“Alhamdullilah, we have an amazing family and are happily married. We look forward to spending the rest of our lives together, Inshallah!” she declared. “It is my sincere request to you all to not instigate such rumours and claim that they are true without any factual knowledge.
